You Have To Burn The Rope is a simple platformer game that spanned countless jokes and references throughout all areas of the community. It was developed by Mazapan and the music was created by Henrik Nåmark.
Gameplay[]
There's a boss at the end of the tunnel, the Grinning Colossus, the player starts in. However, he can't be defeated by the player's weapon (that is activated, conveniently, by almost every key on the keyboard) - he does lose a bit of life when he gets hit, however his health regeneration is far too fast. In order to defeat him, you have to burn the rope. Touch a flaming candle that is stuck to the wall to get hold of a stick in flames, with which you burn the rope. Falling from too high, getting hit, or throwing your weapon, will result in the loss of the fire. The player is immortal.
Ending Song[]
The ending song for this game has become a phenomenon across the Internet, boosting its popularity immensely. Here is a link to the lyrics of the song, and the song itself:
Trivia[]
- People have asked Mazapan over and over for a sequel, however the Developers mentioned in the ending song that they will not produce a larger game.
- This is the only game by Mazapan on Kongregate, despite its immense popularity.
- There is a boss in the game Death vs. Monstars which is the Grinning Colossus from this game.
- Using devices such as Cheat Engine, players have managed to bring down the Grinning Colossus's lifebar down to 0. However, he did not die, for there was no code written for when that happened.
